The recommended care for regular rayon is dry-cleaning and high-wet-modulus rayon can be machine washed also. But the advancements in technology has increased the durability of the fabric with more variety which is easy to manage and maintain. Also, rayon fabrics can easily be bleached.
However, some rayon can be sensitive to chlorine bleach because of the finishes used in it. Cool to lukewarm water is added with gentle squeeze suds and gentle suds through fabric and rinse. Knitted fabrics should be left flat so that they can dry faster. The fabric is pressed at a medium setting while it is damp or dry. It is often sufficient to press on the wrong side of the fabric. Otherwise, one can use a pressing cloth to press on the right side of the fabric. Damage can happen to rayon fabrics from silverfish, acids, and mildew. Sunlight is not harmful.
